Short description: Extensive compendium of the diversity of these peoples with a veiled criticism is not exempt from a certain irony by the sad massacre and assimilation committed by the Spanish advance.

Extensive description: Around 1530, the Emperor Charles asked the Bishop of Mexico to provide him with information about the life and customs of the American Indians; the bishop, Fray Juan de Zumárraga, sends the monarch an autobiographical account made by an Indian of about sixty years, Dark Cloud or Mixtli, in which he narrates his childhood, the mentality and customs of his people, his formation and his loves, always stormy and tragic. Finally, the emissary of Moctezuma comes in contact with the Spaniards of Hernán Cortés, he is baptized and receives the name of Juan Damasceno, although he remains faithful to the uses of the Aztecs. This is its fast-paced and heartbreaking story, which symbolizes the clash of two civilizations, in two irreconcilable ways of understanding the world.
