It is impossible to understand the literary universe of Carlos Fuentes without appreciating his storytelling production; in it we find the root of the themes that dominated the totality of his work - time, identity, the Mexican, the origins, the family - but also represents the most experimental facet of the author. Thus, this volume gathers all the stories that Fuentes published during his lifetime, from the precocious "Pastel rancio" (El Mañana, 1949) to the final collection Carolina Grau (2010).
