Extensive description. Davis MacDonald, a brilliant British scientist, discovers a formula that will increase the longevity of the human race. But, at the same time, he is faced with a crucial dilemma: who will possess this marvelous formula and if it will be used for the good of humanity or will serve for obscure purposes. The scientist torments himself with his doubts and continually asks if the prolongation of life would be a grace or rather an adversity for the inhabitants of our planet. But Professor MacDonald's philosophical questions are suddenly intertwined with the twists and turns of adventure, and so he must flee to Venice from the Soviet Union, stumbling on his way with different characters who will try to obtain the precious secret that he possesses.
